माहेश्वर सूत्र
Maheshwara Sutrani

Maheshwar Sutrani is the foundation of Panini’s Astha-Adhyayi. It has 14 sutras, they are mentioned below. I have recorded them in singing format.

Using these 14 Sutra you can create 305 Pratyahara: 143 + 132 + 122 + 112 + 104 + 91 + 85 + 72 + 63 + 55 + 48 + 32 + 23 + 11 = 305

‘ह’ appears two times so we can reduce 1 duplicate

There are 14 1 letter Pratyahara. They are not considered Pratahara, so we can reduce 13, 14 minus 1 as हल् is already reduced in earlier.

So we can have 205-1-13 = 291 Pratyahara.

But Panini Rushi considers only following 41 Pratyahara
